Google should get with developers porting iPhone apps to Android to offer iPhone customers the apps they purchased in the AppStore for free in the Android store. This could keep people from totally being locked into the AppStore/iPhone as well as AT$T.

How to make a name for youself in Information Technology departments.

When presented with a problem find a commercial solution that works. Argue the details with the highest of management as the know the least. Points to cover are licensing, support, the legal safegaurds, security, and the superior quality of the product you found compared to doing an in-house or open source solution.

This works great! When you get the product tested, approved, and incorporated into production you're done and all you had to know is how to kiss ass, do Google searches for software, and make phone calls to software sales teams! Who needs a computer science degree anyhow? Now you can hand the software over to a lessor paid employee to support and move on to the next software purchase!

When the costs start adding up, the product fails to interoperate, and licensing gets mangled they will likely look to you to solve the same problem again, how easy.

Again, follow this guide and maybe play a round or two of golf and you could get yourself a better job title. If you're lucky, the upper brass will give you a raise for you expertise and problem solving skills.

Now, if you're more of a hacker type and know a little programming, you too can benefit from the ignorance of I.T. managment.

Find a commercial product, like BMC Patrol or CoolGen and write code no one else knows about, guard your code with your life in fact! Your code doesnt have to be good, but make sure your code becomes extremely noticed and heavily relyed upon by management. Once they are dependent on your code you can do as you please with little fear...

If you're wanting to climb the latter of success remember, become friends with the managers. Share the same interests like religion, politics, and sports with the majority, especially managment.

Befriend as many people as you can and always be available for lunch and happy hour. The smartest guy who isn't a social butterfly gets asked the least amount of questions, while the average guy who is gets labeled a genius in the smart guys area of knowlege simply because...

First, this guys agent was contacted by a rich media firm and they requested him to perform. Second, this big media firm hired choreographers and this whole act was practiced and rehersed before the media companies top people, who approved the act to be aired!

CDC released some figures...

22 MILLLION people in American got and survived the H1N1. I know a couple of people that suspected they had it and didn't get tested. This number cannot be correct and they suggest it's estimated, but I believe it's higher not lower based on people that got an early flu without getting tested, but we can play with this figure.

Around 98,000 were hospitalized and survived. Most were likely at risk with pre-existing health issues, which is why they landed in the hospital while millions more didn't! Yes, some healthy people died, but not from H1N1, but likely pneumonia. Pneumonia is nasty regardless of the H1N1 and kills a lot of people every year and things like aids, cancer treatment, and flu viruses can allow this nasty infection to invade the body. If you looked at pneumonia and seasonal flu deaths for a year you will find pretty scary numbers...

So how many people died from H1N1? 4000! These records have to be a bit more correct since this is actually recorded so I believe this number, while not totally correct, would be very close.

Seems our immune system does it's job just fine without this magic vaccine that the media pushed hard due to "scare ratings" making these drug companies one hell of a profit as a side effect. As usual math and logic totally get ignored, like religion ignores science and history, and it's causing people to get unknown barely tested crap injected into their children! I will not risk this on my child with a 22 + million immune system success rate and only around 4000 deaths (540 or so children).

As a reference point: According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the resident population of the United States, projected to 11/20/09 at 05:12 UTC (EST+5) is 307,974,791

Deaths from Pneumonia: 61,777 people died from pneumonia each year in the US 2001 (Deaths: Final data for 2001, NCHS, CDC)

Here's a decent article on the seasonal flu death numbers from the CDC. I suspect no totals will ever be correct for any statistical analysis on a population of this size, but I also believe they count high to cover their asses in many cases.

I install a web browser and an rss reader on my iPhone and get a warning from both indicating these applications contain 17+ material and may not be appropriate for some viewers. WTF? It's my content and searches - pages and news feeds I choose to look at! So now they warn me about the material I may encounter while surfing the Internet and/or reading my preferred blogs?

I guess this means I can sue Google for not warning me about the porn that occasionally gets included in my search results. Bad Google, you should hurry up with your disclaimer pop up window before some infant sees a boob...

First off, what teen boy doesn't want objectionable material and second, what teen girl isn't already showing off theirs? I can bet they hit the ok button regardless...

Have you ever given to charity? Makes you feel good to know some poor family will get to eat one meal while you and the leader of the charity eats every night. You did you part, right? You helped that guy get a pair of socks who was born with a mental defect and is unable to care for himself that was kicked out of his institutional home, because people shouldn't get a free ride, right?

You're so caring of your fellow man's rights and security you're willing to pay taxes and fight against the death penalty to keep murderers alive in prison so they can run their street gangs that sell drugs to your children. Never mind the bullets flying over head or the rapes and beatings to your daughters, that's just a return on your investment.

All this love and caring makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! Free medical care for repeat offenders who do nothing but cause harm to good people coupled with an occasional free meal to a family who likely ended up where they are due to medical bills and/or employment evils... People suffering and dying is 100% acceptable, because we can alleviate some guilt from the evils of our society and our own selfishness in the form of small donations.

God forbid we actually fix these problems at the root! No sir, the politicians and corporations will guide our thinking so we can continue on our path of charity and salvation, while they collect millions of dollars that benefit the few.

Can anyone answer me as to why medical care isn't non-profit like the church? We care so much for our fellow man, but are willing to let him die if he gets cancer. We fight so hard to keep evil people happy and healthy in our prison systems, but punish hard working people financially for getting sick. Let them fall to the streets or die, I gave to my local cancer charity.

It amazes me that there is a cheap, quick, and effective treatment to cocaine, heroin, alcohol, methamphetamine addictions, but we don't use it! It's illegal in fact. Now how are the medical services for addiction treatment going to make large amounts of money on 30 days to years of treatment that typically fail if we can almost always have a successful treatment in just a few days? How about the poor drug companies? How will they keep raking in profits for non-effective medication? Methadone literally keeps you a heroin addict, it doesn't treat you, just allows an addict to get through the day without withdraw sickness. Talk about slavery to corporate America!

I figure with the amount of death and crime caused by drug addiction, the few dangers of treatment with ibogaine in a controlled environment, at the patients choice, is worth the risk. For those who fear it would become yet another street drug, it makes you ill so it wouldn't likely be a good choice for recreational drug users; this fear certainly hasn't stopped the manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical heroin and opiates like oxycontin, valium, or vicodin.

We care so much for our fellow man that we refuse to offer health care, for non-profit, to everyone including ourselves, but if you're lucky enough to get on the news because they feel sorry for you, maybe you can get a week or two of charity moneys to help pay for an apartment near your child's cancer treatment facility. That helps, as long as someone is working for those millions we hand over to the medical industry and you're deemed worthy enough for charity.

Now imagine we cheaply cure millions of addicted people, people that would likely enter the prison systems. Imagine how much money this would save! Imagine how much safer your streets would be, even if only by 10%! That's what I call rehabilitation.

Seriously imagine we effectively treated a drug addict with ibogaine, for free because everyone has health care, and he never enters the prison system where he becomes a murdering Nazi gang member, in order to protect himself inside, who spreads aids and creates more drug addicts by selling meth once he gets out. Now this is looking better isn't it?

How about keeping that insane guy, who is unable to work, that lives under a bridge healthy and clean? Again, less crime, less human suffering, and possibly less disease spread. Wow! Now you're starting to really care about your fellow man and your life is getting a little better at the same time! I'll bet is becoming cheaper also, even thought your paying for everyone to have the basic right to free non-profit health care! How's that guilt, little less of that as well?

I've been trying to ignore this bullshit, but it's pissing me off at this point. Read people, and not the conspiracy shit or the media, read the facts and stats, they do exist... Here's a start. Everyone in the news reporting lies about N1H1 should be jailed for creating mass panic and false alarm. They are filing charges over a lie about a boy in a balloon for christ's sake, I'd think this to be way more serious!

The drug company employees directly involved in N1H1 vaccine should be jailed for fucking fraud and neglect resulting in bodily harm. Period!

Alright, everytime I go to try software I start by reading the companies pitch about their product. I'm no sure if anyone else notices this, every single company these days says "try our award winning software". Who the fuck is passing out all these awards?

Most of the shit I try or buy really sucks bad, has horrid licensing and Eula, and usually tries to sqeeze more money out if you! Why would anyone award that bullshit?

I've owned an iPhone from day one, I've jailbroke it and also purchased one of the first video apps in the jailbreak repo. Of course for my money I got no update and it finally faded into oblivion, but whatever...

At first, in the jailbreak world, we had a lot of nice free stuff coming out, until the greed set in... The jailbreak store sells you shit now so if you buy a bunch of apps there and Apple locks out the jailbreakers, good luck getting your money back.

After the App Store got settled and Apple added the copy/paste and video the only reason I had to jailbreak was for theming and some cool widgets that let me see what was happening from my lock screen. I miss this, but I got tired of jailbreaking just for that. So I started getting stuff from Apple's store.

Life in the beginning was great! There was a lot of good free stuff to offset the commercial stuff, but this slowly changed. The free stuff became demos and the truly free stuff has become less and less. No big deal, most things are .99 cents. Well, that is slowly becoming a thing of the past also, as I have noticed prices slowly rising.

If you remember when the AppStore started everything was .99 or free. Before Apple allowed developers to sell from inside their applications I purchased an app called Photo FX, which cost me $2.99. I go into Photo FX recently selecting a filter I wanted to use and it tells me I have to buy it, WTF! If I would have known that it was going to become a container to sell me more shit I wouldn't have bought it! It pissed me off...

I also purchased another application, What's On, that went “free” I guess because it wasn't selling. Of course they decided to include f'ing advertisements so they could make money off this free app! Damn it, I paid for this with no ads and I shouldn't be troubled because your product didn't sell as well as you hoped! I could have just used i.TV!

The Apple store is a free for all of greed and I am not really liking it. I love the NY Times application, which was free. It has an ad at the top and I don't mind, but all the sudden it started placing a full screen ad up that I have to click to exit!

Now the real issue here is that many of these applications are falling within the realm of false advertisement! I don't know about you, but if I buy a black car, which was advertised as black, I don't want the paint to shift it's color to red in a month simply because Honda decided black no longer sells well! Wouldn't you take it back! That leads us to the next issue, you can't give it back! You can't get your money back once you purchased an application.

So there isn't any real consumer protection and Apple dictates what goes into the store, even if it's something their customers want. Crazy...

I'm waiting for the “pay to use” system where you pay to use the content in the application and borrow a shell to contain the content you pay for. If you remember old cell phone apps, this is basically what I'm talking about. My wife bought Pacman on her Sprint phone for $3 that expired after three months – EXPIRED!

GPS Drive is charging monthly, or yearly, for the voice commands in their turn by turn app! WTF! I pay $2.99 to find out that I will have to pay yearly for the only feature I bought it for! I have their other application called GPS, which is the same damned thing as GPS drive without the option of adding the voice! It was an impulse buy for sure, I saw $2.99 for turn by turn and bought it. I should have just read their site first and bought the one I wanted, which is MobileNavigator. It's $90.00, but the voice is always there! I could have bought Sygic Mobile Maps for the US for $39.00 if I wanted cheaper... (GPS Drive is not falsely advertising and isn't really that bad of a deal, but I'm ranting damn it and it came out...)

Imagine buying a desktop computer from Dell and Dell forces you to use Insight for your internet for a minimum of two years under contract, they lock you out of the hardware and limit your access to the file system. You can only purchase software from Dell and this software will not run on any other desktop computer. The software you buy for this system slowly morphs into a mini storefront or spam container. The majority of these applications are nothing more than interfaces to web services that can be accessed from a web browser for free. Last, but not least, your Dell installs software on other systems, without your permission, so your other systems can interface with your Dell. Would you buy it?

Too bad the iPhone is the best smart phone available and Android will likely follow a similar path.

Apple,

Give me control of the hardware I paid for and own. I don't want to hack the fucking baseband, I just want access to the hard drive!

Give me software with no hidden costs. Instead of denying apps, make the devs play fair.

Don't allow developers to change software that was purchased without disclosure.

Let me pick my carrier.

Allow everyone in the AppStore, including competing products, services, and companies.

Give me standard USB access to my phone so I am not forced into using only your software.
