Twitter is like sitting in your house on a summer afternoon, you never know if the uninvited knock on the door is an old friend, a neighbor, or a door to door salesman.

But then again, I've never had a hooker knock on my door to invite me over to their apartment either...

"A correspondent writes in, denouncing my latest column, and says that if things go my way we’ll end up with the government providing health care to everyone, which will “destroy the American way of life.”

Hmm. There’s a country this correspondent — and many others who denounce “socialized medicine” — should look at. It’s a country where there is, indeed, a substantial private health insurance industry, which pays 35 percent of medical bills. But the government pays a larger share — 46 percent. (Most of the rest is out-of-pocket spending.)

The country is called the United States of America."

I already believe the U.S. is a corporate controlled Fascist country, it's very obvious in fact. Just become a dictatorship already, I am tired of waiting and worrying about it.

As the 1983 American Heritage Dictionary noted, fascism is: "A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism."

Get ready.

Just what we need, a "free" OS filled with advertisements like we see with many of the free iPhone applications. Add in net usage and purchasing tracking and all your personal data entrusted to Google Inc.

It's Linux under the hood so why bother? Amazingly at first Google will target netbooks, which consumers dumped Linux for Windows on already so what gives? My personal opinion, if you want an alternative OS get Ubuntu or some other aged open Linux distribution.

In 1996 I made the statement, "the Internet will become like a trailer park that sits behind a strip mall in a couple of years." I was wrong, it turned into a telephone booth under a billboard in East LA...

The government, FDA, wants to lower the dosage of acetaminophen, because it can cause liver damage if abused or taken over long periods, which is not recommended.

Now here's the logic. Drink as much alcohol as you like, which causes a multitude of health problems including liver disease, accidental death and injuries, violence, and even poisoning.

Boy, they are really protecting us aren't they...

Now I can understand the FDA limiting the evil a company can do, because we all know, well at least those of us that are not republican, that private companies are all about profit and are willing to endanger the customer in order to increase profits if the government didn't keep them in check.

This does make one wonder how the hell Johnny Walker can keep on walking when I will now have to take four of the recommended two dosage to get the same level of pain relief, eureka! More pills = more Tylenol sales! I got it now...

As I worked on a web application I had to stop a take this pic. The Internet, well world wide web, is 20 years old. I am amazed at how fast it grew.

I remember the early web and miss a lot about it, especially early chat rooms. God, I remember when the first version of Paint Shop Pro came out and dumping LView Pro for it.

If you don't know the history read up, they even have the very first web page ever served on the world wide web - Cern

Believe it or not you can still download the first web browser & editor (Next) as well as the first multi-platform browser that ran in a terminal for Mac, DOS, and Unix (WWWLineMode) First Browsers. Every browser, just about, is here including Mosaic and the first Internet Explorer, which wasn't Microsoft btw ;) Browser Archive
